Ruby Blue Chilli Pepper

Ruby Blue bottle-aged herbal Liqueurs made by the Hughes family in Northern Ireland are normally sweet, fruity expressions, but their chilli pepper flavour has an enjoyably spicy seductiveness.

The family discovered an old recipe for preserving berries, combined with that aforementioned Irish grain spirit which gets distilled 5 times and filtered through charcoal to produce a very clean taste. Each bottle contains two Thai chillies.

The chilli heat gives a nice warming, but never overpowers the flavour of the liqueur. Perfect for adding spice and flavour to margaritas, over ice creams and as a desert spirit.

COCKTAIL IDEAS WITH RUBY BLUE CHILLI PEPPER
RECIPIE - HOT IN BARBADOS

40ml Real McCoy 5yr
10ml Ruby Blue Chilli Pepper Liqueur
60ml Fentimans Ginger Ale
2 dashes of orange angostura bitters
1 Lime
1 Slice of fresh grapefruit
1 Teaspoon of Sugar
INSTRUCTIONS

First muddle a sliced lime with a teaspoon of sugar in a glass. Then add 40ml of the Real McCoy Rum into the glass.

Then add 10ml of Ruby Blue Chilli Pepper Liqueur to give it that extra fire. Then add a healthy 60ml of Fentimans ginger ale and finally add 2 dashes of orange angostura bitters.
Top the glass with crushed ice and a slice of fresh grapefruit
