Fernet Branca

Proudly bitter since its inception in 1845, Fernet Branca has been produced according to the original recipe that has been handed down from generation to generation and continues to be the true Italian Digestive Bitter.

Fernet Branca isn’t only a digestive bitter, it’s a true legend. Made with over 40 herbs, spices and roots and aged for at least one year in oak barrels, its recipe is one of the world’s best-kept secrets. Today, the only custodian of the Fernet Branca secret formula is the President, Niccolò Branca, who personally measures out the spices during the production process.

Perfect served on the rocks or combined with a variety of mixers – try it the Argentinean way with cola or with ginger beer for the ‘Bartender’s handshake’.

Tasting Notes: Intensely herbal, with a combination of deep, earthy root notes and bitter high notes. Peppermint weaves them all together, with its heat intensifying the herbs. Whilst slightly sweet, for a liqueur it is fairly dry with a longer finish than most amari.

60ml of Buffalo Trace
20ml Lemon Juice
10ml Sugar Syrup
20ml of Fernet Branca
30ml of Pimento
Crushed Ice
And Garnish with a Sprig of Mint

First place 60ml of Buffalo Trace into a tall glass and then add 20ml Lemon Juice, with 10ml Sugar Syrup.
Fill the glass with crushed ice and shake the mixture in a cocktail shaker
Top the cocktail with 30ml of Pimento to give it a bit of fire and top with 20ml of Fernet Branca.
Garnish the cocktail with more crushed Ice and a Sprig of Mint
