Bodega Iniesta El Carril Tinto 2011
Produced by the Bracelona and International Spanish footballer's vineyard, Andres Iniesta' s El Carril consists of 60% tempranillo, 30% petit verdot; 4 months aging American barrels, 13% abv Silver medal Brussels 2012. Great nose with lots of raspberry, spicy fruit. Palate, peppery but with lots of fruit, the petit Verdot show really nicely.
Rested for 4 months in American oak barrels medium toast. A further 21 days with selected yeast and controlled temperature of fermentation. One week of pre fermentation soaking/maceration after the pass through "Boreal" at 5º C. Fermentation-maceration for 2 weeks.
Floral hints of violets, rose petals and blackberry, all this with an intense aftertaste of ripe fruit and is an ideal wine for manchego grilled lamb, stews, all kind of cheese and red meat.
